Canada Self-Propelled Combine Sales Decline in May

The May 2016 Ag Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Canada Ag Tractor and Combine Report shows a decrease in self-propelled combine unit sales for the month of May – 99 units in May 2016 compared to 158 units in May 2015. While small in numbers, this decline in combine unit sales contribute to an overall decline in year-to-date sales in Canada, with a decrease of 10.8 percent in unit sales compared to January – May 2015. Combined with a decline in U.S. combine sales, North America combine unit sales through May show a 39.3 percent decline year-over-year.

However, as noted in the June, 2016 Ag Equipment Intelligence* report, May is typically a slower-than-average month for combine sales, accounting for 5.9 percent of annual sales over the last 5 years.
