In late February, the USDA mailed the 2018 Prices Paid Survey to farm retailers across the country. Responses are important to help measure and evaluate prices paid changes over time for fuel, feed, seed, fertilizer/lime, agricultural chemicals and/or farm machinery in the U.S. farm sector.
The results of the survey are available in only in aggregate, so no individual operation or producer can be identified. USDA/NASS will publish the findings in its annual Agricultural Prices report which is scheduled to be replaced April 27, 2018.

Why am I getting this letter?
You have been selected to participate in the 2018 Prices Paid Survey. We will be mailing you a questionnaire next week. Your information is important to help measure and evaluate prices paid changes over time for fuel, feed, seed, fertilizer/lime, agricultural chemicals, and/or farm machinery in the U.S. farm sector.
Data collected are incorporated in the calculation of the Index of Prices Paid for Commodities and Services, Interest, Taxes, and Wage Rates.
The results of this survey will be available in aggregate form only, ensuring that no individual operation or producer can be identified, as required by federal law. We will publish the survey findings in the annual Agricultural Prices report, to be released Friday, April 27, 2018.
Thank you for participating and for your support of our programs and U.S. agriculture. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-888-424-7828.
