GIE+EXPO is THE trade show for the outdoor power equipment industry with huge crowds of dealers, landscapers and industry representatives attending the show in mid-October in Louisville, KY. The Equipment Dealers Association has annually attended and played an integral part in the show, from hosting the Model Store in the early years of the show to currently participating in and sponsoring the Dealer Resource Center.
EDA, joined by regional associations, United Equipment Dealers Association and Northeast Equipment Dealers Association, were represented in the Dealer Resource Center. EDA and regional staff took advantage of the opportunity to meet with OPE dealers and discuss the many benefits offered by the national and regional associations to equipment dealers throughout North America. Of particular interest to dealers was the on-line OPE Flat Rate Guide. The guide was developed by UEDA and is being promoted by EDA nationwide by select regional associations. EDA also sponsored two seminars featuring Chloe Banholzer, Marketing Services Manager, ARI Network Services. The sessions focused on digital marketing strategies and business strategies to streamline your business.
Manufacturer Relations remains EDA’s primary focus, and GIE+EXPO presented staff with an excellent opportunity to meet with several manufacturers at the show. EDA presented seven OPE manufacturers with their Gold Level Awards which were based on exceptional dealer ratings from EDA’s Dealer Manufacturer Relations Survey.
EDA’s OPE Dealer Council also met prior to the show to discuss EDA activities, priorities, membership development and issues impacting dealers and industry. Following meeting the EDA council members joined the UEDA and NEDA OPE Councils for a joint meeting to further the discussions.
