A Word from the CEO – October 2016

Since joining EDA in January 2014, I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished and equally excited about our future. Over the past year, EDA successfully transitioned to a membership structure where dealers are now direct members of the association. This direct-membership model enhances communication with dealers and positions EDA as the unified voice of equipment dealers at the national level in the United States and Canada.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of an engaged board of directors, a supportive group of regional association executives and a talented and dedicated staff, we continue to grow and develop programs, which provide value to our members. A few of our value-added programs include:

DEALER AGREEMENTS – We review new/updated dealer agreements and work with manufacturers to address areas of concern. Most recently, we reviewed dealer agreements for Case IH, New Holland, Case Construction and Buhler Versatile.

DEALER-MANUFACTURER RELATIONS SURVEY – Conducted yearly, this survey provides insight for dealers and manufacturers on matters that affect their working relationship.

LEGAL HOTLINE – Our in-house counsel can assist your dealership with questions related to employment/HR, dealer-manufacturer relations, estate planning, compliance and more.

FREE EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS – This past July, we implemented a webinar series to address topics that matter to your dealership, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, avoiding workplace violence, remarketing used equipment and more.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS REPORT – Produced every two years, our comprehensive report on industry wages and benefits can help you retain employees and run your business more efficiently.

EQUIPMENT DEALERS FOUNDATION – Each year, we offer scholarships to qualified dealership employees who wish to further their training and/or education.  We also provide short-term assistance to dealership employees who have been adversely impacted by a natural disaster.

Our vision at EDA is simple: to build the best business environment for equipment dealers. Each day offers new opportunities to provide our dealers with resources to help them operate in an ever-changing marketplace. Over the course of the next several months, we will enhance our current benefits structure and provide even greater value to EDA members.
