2015 EDF Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Brenton Soule

Association News – June 02, 2016

We recently connected with Brenton Soule, recipient of a 2015 Equipment Dealers Foundation scholarship. Originally sponsored by the Sidney, Nebraska 21st Century Equipment store, Soule now works at their Scottsbluff, Nebraska location. For the past two years, he has been a service technician at the dealership. Soule was able to apply his scholarship towards his tuition for John Deere Agricultural Technology.

Soule explained that he learned about the scholarship last year through his store manager at the Sidney location. “After speaking with my store manager, he said I would be an excellent candidate for the scholarship and encouraged me to apply. When I learned I was selected as a recipient of the scholarship, I felt like an elite student service technician,” said Soule.

Five years from now, Soule sees his growth and involvement in the industry that has provided for him. “I definitely see myself still being in the agriculture industry, although I’m not exactly certain in what capacity,” he said.

When asked if he has any advice for future EDF scholarship applicants, Soule stated, “I would say be the best you can be. Work hard at your sponsoring location because they will work hard for you. A hard work ethic and strong grades do matter, and if you have both, I believe you will succeed in this industry.”
